On May 13, Jacob and Tayla Robik found out their 5-year-old daughter, Adelyn Tyler, has a tumor in her iliac bone (wing of the hip). After the biopsy, Adelyn’s tumor was diagnosed as a rare bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. Ewing’s Sarcoma only affects roughly 200 people per year in the U.S. Thankfully, it can be treated and it hasn’t spread to any of her organs, nor other bones through her bone marrow. The oncology team at UC Davis has fought, and won, this battle many times before. Adelyn’s treatment plan as of now is to first receive chemotherapy for 3 months, next surgically remove the tumor, and finally another 5 months of chemotherapy. As of right now, as long as surgery goes as planned, Adelyn will not need radiation treatment. The Robik family has a long, tough road ahead of them. The amount of prayers and support people are sending has been overwhelmingly appreciated. They are utilizing all of their resources to be as strong and prepared to win this battle with their little girl. Unfortunately, nothing can prepare a family for a fight like this. I am asking for donations for the Robik family to help them through many of the financial stresses and hardships they will encounter through this long journey. Anything helps! The continuous prayers have been delivering spectacular results! So please pray, pray, PRAY! Let’s all show the love and support this little girl needs to beat this Ewing’s Sarcoma! If you would like to keep up with Adelyn's journey, please go follow the Facebook page "Adelyn's Fight."
