Fired Adelle’s-Dover Kilim Workers

At the start of October, the Adelle's staff was notified that the shop would be closing for renovations. The initial reopening timeline given was two weeks to a month and we were told that our positions on the new Dover Kilim staff would be there for us upon reopening. As we move into the holidays we are entering month three of closure, loss of wages, potential holiday tips, with no substantial hours available at the Portsmouth Kilim location.

Any Adelle's regular knows how much we on staff love eachother; we are a family and would love to keep on working together and serving you, our Dover community, as this new location opens up. We’re asking for some financial assistance to cover some of the wages lost during this time. We are hoping for $9,000, which would equal to $1,500 for each of us. While this amount doesn't make up for full lost wages or tips, it would be a huge help in making rent, paying bills, and affording groceries.

We really care for each other and the community that has been built at this location for over a decade, and we would really like to maintain these ties.

After the 3 month long closure and being promised jobs throughout, we were fired without cause.
