On May 30th, 2023, Bertha and Isaac took Adelina to the ER due to concerns in her change of behavior and petechiae over various parts of her body, but mostly centered on her face. Anyone who knows Adelina, knows that she is a happy little girl and full of so much energy. From an outsiders perspective, you’d never think something was wrong with her.

After several blood draws, the ED doctor gave my sister and brother-in-law news that her platelets were extremely low and white blood cell count at 4x the normal level. Adelina was ultimately diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Since her diagnosis, Adelina has been transferred to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where she will receive 4-5 rounds of chemotherapy treatment over the next 6+ months. Each treatment is expected to last about 30 days, in which Adelina, Bertha, and Isaac will call PCH their home.

My hope is to be able to help Bertha and Isaac with medical expenses and any other other unforeseen expenses as they navigate this difficult time. Prayers and Donations are truly appreciated.
