Help Support 3-Year-Old Brandon and His Family

Three-year-old Brandon has always been a bright, energetic little boy. Over the last couple of weeks, his family noticed his lymph nodes were swollen. At first, doctors believed it was something viral. But after additional tests and bloodwork, their world was turned upside down—Brandon was diagnosed with childhood leukemia.

His mother, Courtney Benda, is a single, hardworking mother doing everything she can for Brandon and his two sisters. Courtney is one of the best moms I know—her children always come first, and she has never been someone who asks for help. But right now, she needs her community.

Courtney will be staying with Brandon at the Children’s Hospital in Iowa City for the foreseeable future. This means she is unexpectedly off work with no income, all while trying to manage the needs of her three kids. Medical costs, travel expenses, household bills, and the reality of Christmas quickly approaching make this an overwhelming and heartbreaking situation.
