Help Keep ADEA'S Mediterranean Kitchen Open!

Tucked away on an ordinary block in Salem, MA is a most extraordinary little restaurant. Adeas Mediterranean Cafe is a welcoming oasis, nourishing both the body and the soul.

Owners David and Adina Winer, met, fell in love and married in Israel. A few years ago they left their beloved Israel to return to David's home state of Massachusetts to open the only kosher restaurant on Boston's North Shore.

They came with a dream in their pocket, love for each other and their belief in God. David and Adina transformed a small, simple space with only a few tables to a favorite gathering place for a diverse array of people. Those seeking exceptional kosher and or vegetarian, Mideastern and Israeli cuisine.

Walking through the door is like entering a friend's home where you always feel welcomed and appreciated. Adeas is truly a labor of love for the Winers who have no employees. It is just the two of them working side by side, day in and day out. Along with their long hours at the restaurant, they are the loving parents of three young children and are devoted to their Jewish North Shore community.

They never say "No" to any request for their culinary assistance, preparing countless shabbat and holiday meals and life cycle celebrations. Not only is the food delicious, but always prepared and served with love.

Life has not been easy for this beautiful young couple but, despite exhausting and discouraging times, they have always carried on with grace and determination. And then the Corona virus epidemic hit, shutting down every eat-in restaurant and leaving Adina and David uncertain about how to carry on and what the future holds.

We, their closest circle of friends who love and are loved by them like family, sharing with them both the joys and sorrows of our lives, are asking for your generosity at this unprecedented time in all of our lives. We are asking you to help two special people who never ask for help, but only show, through their every word and deed, what it means to give of themselves.

We need to join together to help them make ends meet for this month. How telling it is whenever asked for the cost of a meal or a catered event, Adina and David always respond with Chai- life- 18 dollars or multiples of Chai.

May our response to them also be life-giving, for they are the living embodiment of all that is good and kind.
