Baby Addison's Heart Surgery

Donation protected
I'm starting this campaign for my very dear and special friend whom I met in college, Brittany Horn and her baby girl Addison Delany Horn.

Addison was an answer to many, many, prayers after Brittany and her husband Joel had been trying to conceive for some time. When she found out she was pregnant last summer she was in complete disbelief. She contacted me the same day and told me that she took four pregnancy tests and that they all came back positive. She still just couldn't believe it so her husband Joel agreed to take her into the local clinic for a blood pregnancy test.

She wanted to carry a baby, and be a mama so very much! With the positive blood pregnancy test, Brittany accepted that God really had blessed them with a baby and began to prepare for motherhood. We shared so much about her pregnancy through the whole process; Brittany and I talk around 3 times per week.

Brittany and Joel live in Plains, TX and work on a cattle ranch. They were able to save money in advance to pay for Addison's birth, however, they were blind-sided with some heart breaking news yesterday, when Addison was born.

Addison Delaney Horn was born Friday April 22nd at 12:08pm at Covenant Women's Hospital in Lubbock, TX.  7lbs. 2oz.

On Thursday afternoon, at 41 weeks pregnant, Brittany had an ultrasound and was sent to the hospital because she was told that something wasn't quite right with Addison and they thought it best to get her out soon.
Brittany was induced and the delivery went well and as expected, however Addison's color was not quite right so she was taken to the NICU where they performed a sonogram and some other tests. They found out that Addison has a heart defect where she is missing some major vessels from her heart to her lungs. It was determined that Addison would need surgery within a few days, and more surgeries as she grows.

Addison was life flighted to the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX last night.

Addison is currently stable and will undergo more testing before her big surgery. We ask that you pray for a miracle in her little body, in Jesus' name.

Brittany is still at Covenant Women's Hospital in Lubbock, TX as she is very anemic and will have to have a blood transfusion this afternoon. She and Addison are on separate ends of the state right now. Once Brittany is able to stand and is more stable, she will be released so she can go and be with her baby. We ask that you would pray for strength and healing for Brittany as well.

As you can imagine, they have already accrued a huge ammount of medical expenses with the ambulatory care, NICU care, and life flight. The surgery expenses will come next as well as NICU and recovery care expenses for Addison and more surgery expenses as she grows.

All medicle expenses for the Horn family will be out of pocket. They will also have additional expenses living away from home for about 4 weeks while Addison is in the hospital.

They will have to miss work right now so they can be with Addison and take care of her as she is approximately 8 hours away from home at the children's hospital in Houston.

Would you please lift up my special friend and her family  in prayer? Would you also consider helping them with the medical expense in this very trying situation?

No donation is too small! Most of us can spare some amount of money.

When you make a donation, it will be deposited into "WePay" through GoFundMe. When the goal is reached or when the family is ready to accept the donations, they will provide their personal bank acount information and WePay will directly deposit the funds for them.

Thank you for reading Addison's story and for your prayers and donations!
