Addison’s Kidney Journey
Donation protected
Many of you know, but for people who don’t and are just starting to follow along, our niece Addison was diagnosed with Chronic C3 glomeraupathy and dense deposit disease. She was diagnosed at the young age of 13. She is such a bright and beautiful young woman with a HUGE support system and has some of the best doctors.
As of March 7th, Miss Addison is back in Jim Pattison’s children’s hospital. She went in to get her peritoneal catheter to be put in so she can get peritoneal dialysis at home in 3 weeks time. What was suppose to be only a 24 hour stay, has since turned into a much longer stay due to more complications with her kidneys and no idea of when a discharge date will be. Her blood pressure was scary high for some time, and the doctor gave an estimate on her kidneys that were functioning between 10% - 15%. Creatinine number is staying high, which they are trying to get lowered. Addison also had her ears checked, which they said she has ‘chronic mastoiditis’. Her hearing is slowly coming back thankfully but she will more than likely need her ears drained and tubes put in. Updates are continuously being put up on the group page (Addison’s Kidney Journey). Please follow along and keep prayers and positive vibes going for this beautiful girl and her family. #AddisonsArmy
With this all going on, Megan will be off work for sometime, and having to take several trips back and forth to see the other kiddos, Ainsley, Aspen and Hunter. Megan loves her job and her kiddos so much, but this is out of anyone’s control. As an Aunty, I making this in hopes that we can come together to help ease up some of the stress and financial burden for the 5 of them. With her taking on all of this and the added expenses for getting prepared for when they can go home, but then the back and forth from home to Saskatoon over the next 6 weeks for appointments and training for dialysis. We all know it can be tough trying to juggle the regular everyday things but for her, she also has the medical stuff to now juggle. It’s going to be a long road for this family. Especially since December, we all thought her Kidneys were doing better, but has taken a turn.
So if you can feel in your heart to help, I know they would be extremely grateful for it. Any little bit helps.
Thank you all,
Kayla, Shawn & Gavin
