Hi,
My partner was made redundant at the start of the year but has just secured a job. Due to this we have struggled financially which is now at the detriment of our much loved dog. Our dog has an underlying health condition called Addisons disease, which requires monthly medication and jabs. Betsie was hospitalised earlier this year due to an Addisonian crisis and cost us over £1000 for her treatment, care and medication. Since then we have been on top of monthly check ups and blood tests. Our trusted vets even ‘accidentally’ gave Betsie DOUBLE the dose in her injection which made her extremely poorly. As of late we have been unable to afford her monthly injection and medication. Despite our best efforts of trying to find vets that would offer a payment plan etc we have been unable to fund the treatment she needs. Moving forward this would not be an issue to afford this and up to now we have scraped by to do so, but her health is declining daily and we know it’s unfair to keep her like this. The last thing we want to do is give her away, so that’s not what I’m asking, but if you can help contribute in any way we’d be so so grateful. (We do not want to ask for charity and this is a last resort but Betsie comes before our pride!) I have contacted the RSPCA, PDSA and Dogs Trust but have not had a response. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as we are extremely worried and have run out of options! Our dog needs urgent care which we simply cannot afford right now. Thanks in advance
