Our names are Patricia and Vanessa, Maria’s sisters and Nick’s sister-in-laws. To honor the loving memory of Addison Eva Medeiros, we want to share her story and keep her close in our hearts.
Maria and Nick welcomed their baby girl, Addison Eva Medeiros, into the world on December 18, 2025. She was so deeply loved by so many from the moment we learned she was on her way. Unexpectedly, Addison was born very sick and needed the highest level of care. She was immediately transferred to the CHEO NICU, where she fought incredibly hard and gave everything she could, surrounded by her parents and family. With broken hearts, we are sharing that Addy had to leave this world far too soon. Her time here was short, but she will always be Maria and Nick’s daughter and a part of our family.
There are no words to describe the pain of losing a child. Our hearts are broken alongside Maria and Nick as they face a loss no parent should ever have to experience. They are without a doubt, the most loving and devoted parents for their baby girl Addy.
So many friends and family members have reached out asking how they can help support Maria and Nick during this time. In response to that, we have created this GoFundMe on their behalf. The funds raised will help with the associated costs with losing a child, time away from work, and giving them the space and anything they need to care for themselves during this incredibly difficult time.
We also want to thank everyone who has shown so much love and support to Maria, Nick, and our entire family.
We are especially grateful to all of those involved, particularly the CHEO NICU and the Critical Transport Team for the care they provided to Addy. We will never forget the way you were there for our family during the most difficult moments of our lives.
Thank you for reading and taking a moment to honour Addison’s life. Please continue to hold Maria, Nick, and Addy in your hearts. It was a true privilege to have met precious Addy and we will forever be grateful to have been able to be a part of Addy’s life and will treasure her memory always.
