A Chance for Addi

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah and I want to thank you for taking the time to come to this page and read this.
This is a plea for help that no one ever wants to make. This is a desperate attempt for a Mom to try and help her daughter. This is me, setting aside my pride, and asking for help.
No parent ever wants anything but happiness and health for their kids. We are currently struggling through one of the hardest trials I’ve encountered as a parent. My amazing, oldest daughter Addi is in the midst of a mental crisis that is larger than we can unfortunately help her through on our own. She is 13, and while she can’t imagine being on this Earth any longer, I cannot imagine continuing on without her.
Addi has decided that she no longer wants to be here with us. She has internal thoughts and struggles and demons that we cannot help her breakthrough to see her amazing self-worth. Addi has been in numerous outpatient treatment centers, hospitals, and therapies. She is currently under close watch and remains in the hospital.
She cannot stay endlessly in the hospital, however, for her own safety, she cannot just be released. We are working with insurance to get her into a safe place — a residential care facility. The help she can receive in this facility will give her a chance to be happy. A chance to learn coping skills, strengths to handle her mental health, and the help she needs to remember that she is worthy and loved.
This is something that comes with a heavy financial cost… but you cannot put a cost on life, especially when it’s your child. Our insurance will cover a large portion of the care, however, we need to come up with the upfront cost. Due at the start is $6,000. This will allow us to get her into the residential care facility and then my insurance will help out some.
Any funds accrued beyond the $6,000 will be used to help with the family visits/travel, and missed work days. Each month I will travel just under 4 hours (each way) to be with her, join her in her therapies, and learn anything I can on how to help and assist her for when she is ready to be home with us.
NOTHING is ever too much for our kids, so I simply cannot allow the financial strain be the thing that stands in between my daughter getting the help she needs.
It is also very important for me to acknowledge that not everyone can help financially. If you’re wondering how else you can help, I ask kindly that after reading this, you take the time to say a prayer for Addi. I believe with my whole heart that the Lord can hear our pleas and give her a chance to fight this battle. Please pray for our family, for Addi’s siblings who are scared and confused. For Addi. Pray that she realizes how immensely loved and needed and important she is. #achanceforAddi #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness
