Hi everyone! My sister, Samantha, is in need of our help. Samantha works in the film industry. The current writer's/actor's strike is impacting her ability to work. On top of that, her precious fur-baby, Addie, is now in need of emergency medical care. Her inability to work and make an income as a result of the strike was stressful enough without this added expense. Anyone with an animal knows how expensive vet care can be even in the simplest of cases.
Late Wednesday night, Sam got a call from her good friend and catsitter that Addie was immobile on the floor and in a lot of distress. Sam's friend rushed Addie to an animal hospital where she could receive 24 hour care until Sam made it back to the West Coast. Like every pet parent's worst nightmare, this happened while Sam was visiting family on the East Coast. Part of Sam's unexpected costs is the emergency flight back to Addie. As of right now, there is no diagnosis, but it's possible she will need surgery. The MRI and hospital stay are currently adding up to several thousand dollars. If surgery is required, the cost will go up even more.
