Hi everyone,
We are sharing this with heavy hearts, hopeful spirits, and open hands to support someone incredibly special—Addie.
Addie is a 19-year-old college soccer player who was living her best college experience when her world suddenly changed. In October, she noticed a lymph node in her neck that appeared to have grown overnight. After many months of being told it was “just mono,” our team doctor finally pushed for more testing. A biopsy and subsequent surgery confirmed what no one expected: Hodgkin lymphoma.
In true Addie fashion, she’s meeting this moment with grace, grit, and determination.
Now, the fight begins.
As she prepares to begin treatment, Addie is undergoing fertility preservation, holding onto the hope of one day starting a family. Her cancer care plan includes a combination of chemotherapy and radiation, coordinated between Colorado and Arizona under the supervision of the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. For Addie and her loved ones, beginning treatment in Colorado is essential—allowing her to be embraced, surrounded, and nurtured by the unwavering love of family and close friends. Equally vital is her July return to Arizona, where she’ll be encouraged, uplifted, and fortified by the caring strength of her teammates, coaches, and community around her. Her family, based in Colorado, will travel back and forth to remain by her side throughout her treatment and recovery.
While many of us look ahead to summer break, Addie will be facing the greatest challenge of her life—with courage that will continue to inspire us all.
Many of you have asked how you can help—and this space was created in response to that outpouring of love. It’s about forming a community, showing up with intention, and creating ease where we are able so Addie can focus fully on healing. It’s about surrounding her with the care, comfort, and hope she deserves. It is also about providing support for the many meaningful, often unexpected, parts of this journey that can help make her path a little lighter.
Addie is more than a teammate, friend, or daughter—she’s someone who lifts others up, brings light into every room, and leads with heart. Now, it’s our turn to walk beside her.
This page is a reflection of the love and care Addie inspires in those around her. Whether it’s a note with words of encouragement, a prayer, telling her story, sharing this message, or simply holding her in your thoughts—every gesture is felt and deeply appreciated.
Addie’s Fight is Our Fight. Let’s walk with her, together.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
