Addie Monk - Tragic Accident

On Tuesday June 7, something we never think will happen to us, happened. While in Mississippi visiting family Addie was bitten by a dog on her face. The local ER care flight her to the children's hospital in Jackson.  What looked to be a horrific wound was actually wrapped in a sheet of protection. Addie was cut all the way from cheek to cheek across her nose and around her left eye. By the grace of God her eyes are good, her nasal passages are fine, no significant nerve damage, and her smile is still perfect. BUT our friend has a long road to recovery. She had surgery to close the wound and there are about 90-100 stitches repairing this precious baby.

Through all of the trauma they have been blessed with amazing surgeons, doctors and nurses that have loved on Addie as if she were their own. Her spirit has not wavered. She has maintained her girly girl ways even in the ER explaining that she needed new nail polish because hers was messed up and it HAD to be "soft pink". She continued to bless those around her while they all took great care of her! She's a tough little girl with the biggest of personalities.

Blake Monk is a coach at Permian High School and plays an active role in the youth department at Stonegate Church in Odessa, TX. Jennifer Monk is a music teacher at Compass Academy loving and encouraging children daily. 

The medical bills and unexpected travel expenses are huge. Addie will probably have to endure more surgery to repair her sweet face. Please help support this family through prayer and if you can and feel called to financially assist during this time of need.
