Soap Box Derby is a super exciting amazing opportunity for kids in our local community to race! When we were told about it, I was not even sure what the whole thing was about.
My 12 year old daughter Addison was all in and wanted to give it a try, her first year, she placed 5th in stock for our Local Race. And now she is HOOKED!
Last year she won 1st place for our Local Race and was Washington State Stock Champ. She went to Akron and had a great time meeting kids from all over the world and then racing for titles.
This year, she has been Rally Racing to win points to get another invitation to Akron, and this last weekend, she won enough to go!
We are so excited for her and would love to get her there to race again against the Worlds Best!
Most teams do fundraising to fun their sports, since Soap Box is an individual sport, Addie will have to raise funds on her own.
If you would like to help, our family would truly appreciate it.
Flights to Akron are outrageous, so we are flying into Pittsburgh and renting a car, driving to a hotel in Akron and then will have to drive back and forth each day for daily activities, that ultimately end in the big race on Saturday July 20th.
