Addiction doesn’t only affect the addict,my story

Hello, my name is Eugene and I am asking for assistance for my legal fees.
My story began when I met a girl named Faun in July 2020. At the time, I knew she was struggling with addiction to crack and she was going through a hard separation with her then boyfriend, Renee. I saw potential in Faun to rebuild her life and I offered her my help in hopes of her recovery. I provided her my home and support to aid in her rehabilitation. Since I have no experience with serious drug addiction, I believed I could help her through this hard time to regain her life and health.
Over the course of the last year and half, Faun and I struggled through multiple relapses. As much support as I offered her, she would fall back under the control of her addiction and her dealer. Faun was in poor health, suffered several overdoses, taken hostage by her dealer and shared that she had to pay with her body on her last relapse. While I was at work, she would run away from home and end up in Baltimore with her dealer. Because I cared about her recovery I found myself missing on work and continuingly rescuing her from her dealer. With nowhere else to turn, we attempted to obtain help from Recovery Unplugged, an addiction rehabilitation center in Annandale, VA. Faun was in such a damaged head space that she was discharged due to severe self-harm before she could fully recover at the facility.
In the midst of her journey to recovery, Faun had some promising moments and we believed we were making the progress to her being healthy. We changed her diet, started working out, enrolled her into school, and even found her dream job of being a barista. Giving her the hope of moving into a better future we felt proud of our accomplishments. Crack addiction, however, is extremely unpredictable and anything can trigger a relapse. Faun would find her way back to Baltimore and was held hostage. Risking my own safety, I would go find her and bring her home
On October 1st, 2021, I learned that her dealer/ex-boyfriend, Renee was waiting in my neighborhood. This was a major trigger for Faun knowing she had easy access to the drugs and eventually she succumbed to her most severe relapse. I called the police seeking help, I informed them that she is having a relapse and her dealer was near by the community pool. I held her to keep her from leaving with her dealer until the police were able to come. When the police arrived I let Faun go so she could speak with the officers and they could assess the situation. They spoke to each person individually and I told the officers I was concerned for her life and safety. After the assesment police decided to let Faun go with her dealer. I was in utter shock and could not believe that she chose to leave with him knowing how dangerous he was for her.
The next day was the worst day of my life. Fairfax County police came to my home in the middle of the night and arrested me for Faun’s abduction. It's been over a year since I took her in, I only ever wanted to support and help her. I could not believe that waiting for the police would result in being charged with abduction! Relapse and addiction is a terrible disease, addiction makes them lie to loved ones and people closest to them but it was enough to convince the police to arrest me. After posting bail, a retainer for my attorney, and ongoing legal fees, I am completely financially destroyed. I’m now reaching out seeking help as I have burned through my life savings. I am currently working two different jobs to survive and support my mother who lives with me. I have no regrets of my actions, I tried my best, and all I ever wanted to do was raise Faun up into a better life.
I am humbly and desperately asking for your help and support for my ongoing attorney’s fees and offset finances. These bills are accruing quickly and I was unable to work during Faun’s relapses since I was taking care of her to make sure she was safe. After listening to my story, I hope you will find it in your heart to help me clear my name. Any amount you can donate will be graciously appreciated and go towards getting myself into a better situation. Thank you in advance for your consideration, generosity and support through the hardest moment of my life.
Sincerely,
Eugene B
