Guitars for the Greater Good

Hi there. My name's Dan and I've been a musician for 25 years. After playing in a bunch of bands and going through a lot in my personal life, about 5 years ago I became addicted to alcohol. During the course of my addiction I basically gave up music and all things related to it.

 

Fast forward to about 2 years ago I finally hit my bottom, and I was able to begin a sober life. I attended meetings and stuck to a pretty rigid program but the one thing that really kept me going and kept me motivated was becoming interested in music again.

 

It wasn't just an interest though, this time when I was learning about music and everything that was involved with it I became obsessed with some of the details about the guitars and bases that I've been playing on for years. I started to learn how to put the guitars together from the ground up and also how to fix common problems that these instruments always encounter.

 

Now two years later I have fixed repaired and given away almost a dozen guitars and all of them have been to people who are currently in a sobriety program or those who are just entering a program. Unfortunately I am at my end when it comes to the amount of money I can put into it.

 

Because I am giving away or reselling the guitars for very cheap I'm not currently seeing a lot of profit which again makes it very difficult for me to continue to buy and fix these instruments so that I'm able to continue the program.

 

Currently I'm just looking for investors who want to be a part of my mission which is just to put instruments into the hands of addicts and possibly to use teaching in order to aid in the sober process.

 

I set the goal at $5,000 with the hopes that I might be able to get anywhere close to that, but if I don't you can rest assured that anything donated will be put to use and towards this cause that I've become so passionate about and that is so close to my heart.

Orders: I currently need donations of any guitar neck, body, or part that you don't need. I'm always open for donations in my rear!

Sponsorship: I just really need something bigger to get behind this with me to help me steer the ship. The whole project is a lot larger than I could have ever prepared for.
