Help Nate & Celeste Attend the General Service Conference
Hello, I’m Nate Davis, and together with my wife, Celeste, we’re reaching out for your support. As recovering addicts, we’ve rebuilt our lives through faith, family, and the strength of our 12-step fellowship. This November, we’ve been honored to serve as Kansas delegates to our fellowship’s General Service Conference in Portland, Oregon, from November 6–9, 2025. Your generous contributions will help us raise $3,100 to cover travel, lodging, and conference costs, allowing us to represent our community and continue giving back to others in recovery.
Our journey has been challenging. During the pandemic, job loss and isolation led us into a devastating addiction to fentanyl and meth. Between 2020 and 2022, we lost nearly everything—our home, cars, and custody of our children—due to choices we deeply regret. In October 2022, after hitting rock bottom in jail, we began rebuilding. With family support, we moved into an apartment by February 2023, but a relapse in May 2023 taught us that addiction is a lifelong disease requiring constant commitment. Our official clean date is June 5th 2023 and through both inpatient and outpatient treatment and our 12-step program, we found a home group, sponsors, and a community that understood our struggles. Sharing our experience, strength, and hope kept us sober and helped us regain custody of our children and mend family ties.
Today, our lives are transformed. Celeste works as a peer support specialist and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree to become a drug and alcohol counselor. I serve as chairman and chips & literature chair for our group, while Celeste is the group’s secretary. We sponsor other addicts, chair weekly meetings, give rides to others, and volunteer to carry the message of hope. As delegates, we represent Kansas at the General Service Conference, where we voice our community’s needs, vote on critical issues, and bring back resources to strengthen local groups. The conference is both a business meeting and a spiritual gathering, uniting delegates worldwide to protect our fellowship’s principles, approve literature, and guide its mission.
Attending this conference is a great honor, but the costs are a challenge, especially with our newborn joining us. We need to raise $3,100 to cover:
- Flights: Round-trip airfare from Kansas City to Portland for three ($1,500).
- Lodging: Hotel stay at the Hilton in downtown Portland, November 6–10 ($1,000).
- Registration: Conference fees for workshops and events ($350).
- Miscellaneous: Meals and incidental expenses ($250).
Every donation brings us closer to attending this life-changing event. If you can’t contribute financially, sharing our campaign with your network would mean the world. Your support fuels our commitment to recovery and our mission to help others find hope through our fellowship. We promise to share updates from the conference to show the impact of your generosity.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Nate & Celeste Davis
