Add more sites to lgbt milWALKee

There are so many sites and tours we’d like to add to our new app!

This goal amount would fund our work on 25 more sites, including some brand new research work with Janice Colby on Black LGBTQ bars.

We have two tours in mind at this point:

• North Side bars where Black LGBTQ Milwaukeeans could perform Gospel numbers and cover Black artists. “Where we could be free and us,” says legendary performer Janice Colby. Places like Rena’s, Co-Z Corner, Tina’s, Katie and Zips, and Viva la Femme.

• The Bad Lands featuring colorful characters like Liberace, Jamie Gays, Ralph Kerwineo and the Balistreri Family. And places of ill-repute like the baths, strip joints and… Gimbel’s?

We would also love to add historic businesses and organizations still with us.

We won’t wait to reach our goal to add the sites and tours; we will add them as funding allows. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
