Bring Nala Home

Hi, my name is Nicole. My sister rarely asks for help and tries to do it all on her own, although at this time is torn and struggling. Sometime on Monday afternoon their puppy Nala got her back leg stuck in the drainage grate, found in the rain and did the best to gently remove her leg from where it was stuck, but she couldn’t put pressure on her leg. Nala was nursed over night and taken into the VETS first thing this morning to get an x-Ray, which resulted in a broken femur. The boys last dog had a similar incident, which broke my sisters and her boys heart. They could never work out how she broke her leg, now they know what the problem is they are fixing the drain grate so it doesn’t happen again. They did everything else to make sure the home would be safe for our current pup Nala, but none of us never even thought about the drain grate. The 2 young boys with additional needs absolutely love and adore their Nala with warm hugs, happy playtime, and their gentle companion on bad days, she is family and they would be crushed and traumatized. Bella passed away from the drain grate injury, but Nala’s leg is treatable, I can’t bear to see the impact it will have on the boys if we can’t afford to fix Nalas broken femur especially after Bella and it’s breaking my sisters heart to be in this predicament. This is important to me and our family. Any amount of money will be helpful at this time as the X-Ray and sedation alone is $900, and the surgery will cost THOUSANDS. If you could please share this and help us fix Nala and bring her home to her family where she belongs, we would forever appreciate this. Also please if you see the boys don’t mention anything as we have tried to keep this as quiet as possible from them to be unaware since the trauma from the last time was unbearable.
