Hi! My name is Sarah and I'm fundraising for my wife Julie Lorenzen, the "One-legged Wonder" to purchase an Adaptive Mountain Bike.
Julie is 52 years young and is an Above the Knee amputee. She lost her leg May 2024 due to a debilitating nerve injury.
Julie has not let losing her leg slow her down any, I know, you're not surprised... She found an Adaptive Sports organization, Oregon Adaptive Sports that has taken her Mt Biking, Kayaking, Road Cycling, and once the snow falls, skiing!
We are fundraising to purchase an adaptive mountain bike of her own, so that she may ride all year and get all the good feels that go with it.
We're asking for help as who knew that these adaptive bikes cost as much as a car! Julie has secured two grants already, leaving $13k remaining for us to fundraise.
Her bike will be handmade in the USA, by Bowhead Corp in Michigan, and it'll be made to just her specific measurements.
Your help/donation will enable Julie to live life to the fullest and thrive in her recovery journey!
