Hello!
Braydon is a young man, who has several physical and learning difficulties. Braydon has found with Judo he can fulfil a dream to compete at a high standard (European, and hopefully internationally).
Braydon trains at Westerleigh judokwai, keisen judo club, and dynamic judo. Braydon also trains at the national training centre at Walsall for 2 days usually every 8 weeks. This is an extra cost to his commitment to improve his judo.
Braydon has competed at European level at the EJU Get Together competitions, and comes away usually with silver or Gold.
Braydon with his kata partner, are the only GB pairing to ever bring home a medal from the EJU kata championships. They have now brought home 2 gold medals.
Braydon is currently a level 2 adaptive judoka. 3 years ago he was a level 3/4, he has improved so much he is now training at a higher level. Recently he has been pushed to compete at level 1, in higher weight category, he rose to the challenge and came away with a Bronze.
This year with the support from this go fund me page, it has helped Braydon to access, the EJU get together competitions in gyor, Hungary (2 x gold) and the EJU get together in gdansk, poland, where he competed at level 1 in a higher weight category, he came away with Bronze. The money has paid for his flights, transport and entry, for these competitions.
Braydon has been selected to compete with the GB adaptive squad in congelino, italy, and at the dutch open in venray, holland, both are in november. Then Houlgate, france in December.
Braydon is also competing in Cardiff 5th October.
Braydon will be competing again, next may 2026 at the European Judo Union kata championships. they past 2 years on average just for Braydons costs are between 1000-1200, due to the competition being of such a high standard, this will be his 3rd competition and aiming for his 3rd gold. Being part of the kata pair who are the only ones for Great Britain to win a medal at this competition, let alone being gold.
Braydon due to his difficulties also needs to have a parent with him, this can increase the cost (especially for going abroad). Trying to cover some of his costs, makes is more achievable for him to access the competitions.
Adaptive Competitions, there are not many in Great Britain, so need to travel abroad. This is also due to Braydon needing to access these competitions, so that he can achieve points towards his black belt.
Braydon was also awarded Adaptive player of the year 2025, at the British Schools competition for his development in judo.
