I started the Adaptive Athlete Apparel Project after realizing how often adaptive athletes are overlooked. Growing up around sports, I saw firsthand how much pride, identity, and confidence come from wearing a real uniform. When I began volunteering with a local wheelchair basketball program, it became clear that many of these athletes do not consistently get that same experience, so I decided to do something about it.
The goal of this project is simple. I design and provide professional-grade basketball jerseys, shooting shirts, and apparel for wheelchair basketball athletes and programs at no cost. I am currently working with the Chicago Skyhawks and Chicago Hornets, collecting roster information and design preferences to ensure the gear reflects the team’s identity. Once designs are finalized, I aim to cover the full cost of production and delivery. Every dollar raised goes directly toward apparel manufacturing, customization, shipping, and additional gear for athletes with higher adaptive needs.
As a high school student, I am building this project from the ground up because these athletes deserve the same level of professionalism and recognition as any other team. I handle the design, outreach, logistics, and fundraising myself, with the goal of expanding beyond a single program as the project grows. Your support directly impacts real athletes by giving them top-tier gear and the pride that comes with it. Thank you for supporting the Adaptive Athlete Apparel Project and helping elevate adaptive sports.
