Adaptations to home following loss of leg

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lauren and i am hoping that this can be shared far and wide for the lovely people of the world to help me out.

so my journey began in 2020 when after having a my big toe on my left foot being amputated due to a deep infection going into my bone. Thrn due to further complications having pry of my foot removed. During the healing process i got something called charcpt foot, which means all the bones in my foot and ankle broke. At this stage i was given the decision to either reconstruct the leg or amputate it. After a long thought out pros and cons it was decided that i would opt for the reconstruction. This was done and i had a metal frame on my leg. During this time i gained a lot of weight and after having a few general anaesthetics i developed kidney issues and fluid retention. The doctors also thought there was an issue with my heart. So after another stint in hospital and having to spend my birthday in hospital things started to improve. So i was measured for my shoes and after 3 months wait and a long time in a cast i got them. Happy days until i developed an ulcer on the heel of my right foot.

The heel wouldn’t heal so doctor’s decided on trying maggot therapy sp several weeks, this wasnt as successful as they wanted so i was taken into hospital to clear this surgically. This was done and was doing well. I was then checked and it seemed that the heel bone had broken in half. After talks with the surgeon and the fact i had developed an infection which had spread up my leg it was decided the best course of action was to amputate and this was to be done in 2 staged. First to remove the bone, let the leg settle then to remove the leg.

This was successful and i was healing well until i fell. I lost a lot of blood and was whizzed back to surgery.

Happy days when i was discharged until we got me home to realise the ramp the occupational therapy provided. This was not and is still not fit for purpose. I can't get out the house without help and then it takes me out on the grass. I was also told i had to live downstairs which is fine other than the fact my bathroom is upstairs.

During this i had become blind in one eye and I required operations on both eyes. After the 2nd eye op i fell and broke the thigh bone in the amputated leg, developed an infection and became very unwell. I developed sepsis for the second time and was rushed back into hospital.

So i was then deemed well enough for home. A referral was put in for the occupational therapy team from the council but there was quite a wait. 3 months later we had a visit and where told i needed a few adaptations to the house but they could only help with access.

so this is why i am asking for any help you guys can give me to help with the required adaptations.
