My name is Kayla and I’m married to Trey Adams. Neither of us are one to ever ask for help. However, I’m going to swallow my pride for this one.

My husband recently switched jobs (leaving us without medical insurance for 2 months). Due to an injury a few weeks ago, leaving an open wound, he developed an infection. Knowing we have no medical insurance, he tried to “brush it off.” He was called out for storm work to Virginia Beach and unfortunately he became suddenly ill and the infection spread rapidly, causing him to become septic. He’s was admitted into the hospital in VA (4.5 hours from me and home). He’s been there for a few days and the doctor anticipates quite a lengthy stay/recovery.

My husband is the soul income to our household. We have 3 beautiful children and multiple animals to care for. We’re in the process of applying for temporary medical insurance, however we have already accumulated a very large medical bill and will continue to do so until he’s home and healthy. Along with no insurance, he also hasn’t accumulated PTO yet so we will have no income while he’s hospitalized and recovering. 

Again, swallowing my pride to ask for help but if you are able to, please know we appreciate you so much. Donations will be used to care for our children, our pets, his medications, to keep our bills paid and a roof over our head.
