Meet Adam, our sweet son. He is 20 years old and an honor student currently studying psychology in college. Adam is also currently battling advanced Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He is undergoing 6 months of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bi-weekly injections to help boost his immune system while he fights for his life which cost $6500 each, but insurance is refusing to pay for at this time.
In October of 2024, when Adam was still 19 years old, he discovered a lump on his neck. Although it was concerning, he remained dedicated to his education, finishing all of his classes for the term with outstanding grades. After seeing his primary care physician only 2 days after his 20th birthday, we knew something was seriously wrong. The number of tests that were ordered and imaging left our entire family fearing the worst. Sadly, our worst fears were confirmed first on December 9th, 2024, when the CT scan was performed and the results showed widespread enlarged lymph nodes and multiple fully formed tumors. During the biopsy, Adam was confirmed to have Hodgkin's Lymphoma. At this stage, we were still unaware of what stage of cancer he had, but it was a relief to have a name for it. Adam had already named the mass on his neck Gerry; he's a funny young man. After the PET scan, we learned Adam had advanced Hodgkin's Lymphoma, late stage 3 to early stage 4. He had a mass at the base of his skull on his T2 vertebrae, multiple large tumors along his neck and shoulder area, masses in his chest and abdomen, both above and below the diaphragm, and he also has one in his liver (which is why the staging is as such). Adam started treatment a month ago, and it's definitely taking its toll on him in all ways.
As Adam undergoes treatment, the financial burden on our family has increased significantly. We are seeking your support to help alleviate some of this burden and ensure that Adam can continue to receive the best care possible during this difficult time. While going through treatment, which not only makes Adam sick and exhausted but also causes him to be in significant pain, Adam is continuing his education and trying to remain a normal young adult.
Your generous donation will go directly towards Adam's medical expenses and educational needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on his life and help him stay focused on his recovery and studies.
Adam's journey has been nothing short of inspiring. His resilience and determination to pursue his dreams, even in the face of adversity, are truly remarkable.
Thank you for considering supporting Adam during this challenging time. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated. Please share Adam's story so more people can learn about our brave young man and his cancer battle.
