Earlier this month our community endured the tragic loss of Adam Whitaker-Wilson. This beautiful soul left an indelible mark on all of those who knew him, heard his music or felt the warmth he radiated wherever he went.
The Whitaker-Wilson family has taken on significant financial strain in the wake of these events. We're hoping to raise some funds to lighten this load for them so they can focus on what matters most. Some costs we're hoping to recoup are as follows:
- The family's airfares to & from Mexico to retrieve Adam's remains & belongings
- Unexpected costs of dealing with an international death
- Support of costs for Adam’s Celebration of Life
- Time away from work/loss of income
- Administration & legal costs
- Immediate hidden expenses
A heartfelt thank you to anyone who's able to help the Whitaker-Wilson family out at this difficult time through donating, sharing this GoFundMe or sharing your stories of Adam.
Statement from the family:
"On behalf of the Whitaker-Wilson family, It is with deep devastation we announce the tragic passing of our brother/son/best friend, Adam Whitaker-Wilson. Adam had recently made a decision to go to Mexico to have a fresh start and reclaim his life. He had been suffering from a herniated disc in his spine from years ago - and the compounded pain he had been dealing with in recent times became unbearable and impacted him on all levels. While my family is in absolute despair having to accept this reality of Adam being gone, we feel some peace that he is no longer feeling that pain.
On April 7th 2026, Adam passed while in Mazunte, Oaxaca, Mexico, a place he loved and felt happier in. We are heartbroken he didn’t have the opportunity to begin living the simple life he wanted.
If you knew Adam, you knew what a gift it was to be around his beautiful presence. Adam was a pure walking expression of love, and he never held back to let you know he loved you. This loss in our family is unfathomable. We will never be the same without him.
Individual memoirs of Adam’s remarkable impact on our lives will be expressed in due time. This announcement here is just the start. We welcome others to do the same. Remember him. Share your stories. Pray for his spiritual journey ahead. Light a candle. Share his light. Share his music, his greatest gift we can cherish forever. Share your love. Much like Adam’s ways, don’t hold back sharing your love for one another.
