On June 1, 2021, Adam Otero, age 40, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Adam was a vibrant and charming man, a devoted father, and an amazing brother, son, nurse, and friend.
While there are several grieving this untimely loss, nobody will quite miss him like his children, Adelyn (9), Cruz (7), and Harmony (6) Otero. His children were his world, and he was theirs. One of Adam's favorite things to do was to buy gifts for his children. Every year, he would save up and buy an abundance of presents for his kids, nieces, nephews, cousins... you name it. Like Santa's Elf, I'd be tasked with sorting, wrapping, organizing and trying (and failing) to harness his excitement. He loved to see the delight in their faces when they opened his gifts or shared an experience he provided to them. He had dreams of taking the kids snowboarding, camping, and traveling across this continent and others. He had dreams of furthering their educational experiences and personal enrichment. There was so much more he had left to enjoy with them.
As their mother, supported by family and loving friends, I can and will provide unconditional love, guidance, tickles, education, security, experiences, and the stability they so desperately need in this time. But, nothing will replace Adam's playfulness, his wit, his silly dances, his bear hugs, or the zest he brought to their everyday life.
As so many of you are mourning his loss, and are seeking for a way to contribute, I want to extend this opportunity should you so choose. Any funds raised will go directly to his family to support costs of his funeral and memorial expenses. Any remaining funds will be divided equally among his children, to support the dreams he so excitedly crafted for for them. Please feel free to leave a note, a memory, a quote... anything that will help us remember the greatness that was Adam.
