Adam Oberg's Warrior Cancer Fight

Hello everyone, I’m fund raising for my best friend’s husband, Adam Oberg. With an easy going attitude and friendly eyes—Adam is the kind of guy you like immediately. A diehard Huskers fan, he’s quick witted and has a comeback for pretty much everything. He’s a fantastic husband, son and friend—he’s the kind of person who always has your back. Adam gives 110% of himself to his family, friends and work. As a Trucker, he would be gone for days to weeks, working long hours— missing birthdays, holidays and other precious time with family. He did this all without complaint. He’d be the first person to offer help to anyone in need. Now, he and his wife need YOUR help! On New Year’s Day, Adam and Mal had their world tipped upside down. Adam was admitted to Saint Mary’s Hospital due to coughing up copious amounts of blood. After lots of testing, they received those three words you never want to hear—You’ve.Got.Cancer. To make it even more terrifying, more testing has revealed that he has stage 4 metastatic squamous cell carcinoma—located in his left lung with metastasis to the brain. Can you even imagine? Or maybe you can, maybe you’ve been where they are right now? You know the terror or at the very least can imagine it. But you know what, through it all— Adam has remained upbeat and humbled. He is determined fight. He is determined to WIN! To BATTLE this beast. He is a warrior but he needs an army behind him. Needless to say, he has a very long road ahead of him to fight and beat this. He has already started radiation therapy for the cancer in his lung. Now he will need further specialized radiation treatment (called Gamma Knife) and chemotherapy to complete his treatment. The road to beating this cancer is going to be months long, daunting and expensive—even with insurance. Unfortunately, Adam has essentially been let go from his job at Wayne Transport but will thankfully still receive COBRA insurance through them. However, due to this, their premium will be over $500 a month. They are now without his income and will be for the foreseeable future. Can you help? Even a little will mean the world to them.
