Adam McCord ADA Home Remodel
Donation protected
Adam is a single Dad from Prior Lake, MN, he graduated from PL high school in 1996. During high school, Adam was involved in a horrific car accident that left him quadriplegic. More recently, Adam was involved in yet another life-threatening car accident that resulted in him being hospitalized for several weeks.
Despite these events, Adam is currently in the exciting (& stressful) process of purchasing a new home in Colorado Springs, CO. Unfortunately Adam's new home is in need of many modifications to make it ADA compliant & accessible for him & his 2 kids, 4 year-old twins Evie & Declan. Some of the major modifications needed include; a wheelchair ramp for access into the home, enlarging the doorway into the kids' bathroom so that Adam's chair will fit through it, modifying the kitchen sink area to make it accessible, & a barrier-free shower & accessible vanity/sink in the master bath.
These are only a few of the major projects that Adam needs completed in order to make every-day living in his new home possible. We are trying to meet our goal amount by Jan. 15th, 2021. All of the necessary renovation projects Adam needs completed total in at over $30k, so anything raised over our initial goal amount will still be put towards these.
Anyone that has ever met Adam knows that in addition to being a survivor, he is a great Dad, friend, son, & overall fun & loving guy. When us folks at I Got a Guy learned of the obstacles he's facing with his new home, we wanted to help him out. 2020 has not been an easy year for anyone, so anything that our community of amazing family & friends is willing to give would be greatly appreciated by us, as well as Adam & his family.
"When we give cheerfully & accept gratefully, everyone is blessed."
