Adam Lee Lyons lived 23 years and 300 days on this earth before meeting his maker. Nobody is ever ready to lose a child. I will never forget when Adam was diagnosed with renal failure in 2013. Connie and I had just talked about our boys spreading their wings and stepping out in independence. Adam had taken a job in Utah for a few weeks that summer. He and Derrick were enjoying their independence, when sickness stopped Adam in his tracks. Pain and sickness was not new to Adam, Derrick or Connie. In 2010 they had lost Art to cirrhosis of the liver after a long battle. They had hoped a kidney transplant for Adam would help, and it did for about a year, but then that too failed. It was evident that Adam was very sick and losing the battle, but they were taken totally by surprise when he passed away on Saturday, February 25. Spending the last twenty years caring for a terminally ill husband and now a son does not give you much time to prepare financially; mostly you just try to keep your head above water. Connie is so thankful and has been so very blessed by her family, friends and co-workers over the last several years; she had truly seen a very loving and generous spirit from each of you. Each time you have reached out to her in love, she felt it was God’s way of saying, “I am here for you and have not forgotten you.” It is in that spirit that I come to you again and ask for your help in providing for the funeral arrangements and financial needs for Connie and Adam Lyons. Many have already asked how they can help and this is best way that we can get her the help she needs in this difficult time. We would like to raise $10,000.00 for the funeral arrangements and have set up a “Go Fund Me” page for the ease and convenience. Thank you for your financial blessing and your prayers - they are very much needed and very much appreciated.
