Early this year, around June, I developed a rather irritating cough just before/during my missions trip to Haiti. After a few weeks of coughing I finally went to see the doctor and they prescribed a round of antibiotics.

A month later I was back with the same cough, and was again prescribed a new round of antibiotics along with a chest x-ray.
Unfortunately another month later I was back and a third round was prescribed, again with no change.

Finally in the middle of October with nowhere else to turn, they ordered a CT scan. This is where the real journey begins.

I received a call from the doctor a week later with the results. A large mass in my left lung had shown up on the scan.

Immediately fear began to set in! All I could do was cry out to God and begin to rebuke the fear that had so quickly overtaken me.

As I broke the news to my family and to my Fiancee all I could ask is that we all find a way to give God the glory for what was to come.

Doctor's appointments then became an almost weekly thing which led to to pulmonology and oncology. After a biopsy they were finally able to diagnose..again we prayed and held our breath. The mass was a tumor. Carcinoid tumors are one the rairest that appear in humans and even rairer to appear in the lung.

Although considered cancerous, they are very very very low grade and can, in most cases, be surgically removed. And that is what has led me to this post. Tomorrow morning I go under the knife to have a portion of my lung along with the tumor and a few surrounding lymph nodes removed.

Thanks to insurance approval I only owe a "small" amount for all of these procedures and follow-ups. However it is still more than I can afford on my own.

I have never felt comfortable asking for money, but I have almost no choice. I set up this fundraiser to help with my portion of the expenses, but most of all I am asking for your prayers.

Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have against the enemy. Prayer cast out fear and prayer can bring healing.

Thank you to those of you who got this far. Thank you for your support and for your continued prayers.
