On Friday, May 4th, 2018 our community lost two wonderful young men when they succumbed to injuries while on the job. Adam and Zach removed a tree blocking the path of a school bus returning children from school. While clearing the remaining brush, a second tree suddenly came down, tragically ending their lives. Like others in their profession, they often cleared roads and hydro lines to keep us safe & comfortable ... and allowing First Responders to reach us in emergencies.
Many of us struggle for a way to turn this tragic loss into something meaningful to honour the memory of these two wonderful young men. The DCCA (Destination Campbellville Community Assoc) has established a Fund in memory of Adam Sura and Zach Plater for scholarships honouring Adam & Zach. Applicants for the scholarships would include those applying to university, college, or trade schools.
Adam Sura (28) was a talented, hard working arborist and graduate from the Humber College Arborist program who loved everything to do with trees. A talented musician & athlete, Adam was a gentle soul with a heart of gold.
Zach Plater (18) was a kind hearted, humble and bright young man, devoted to his studies and dedicated to his friends & family. Milton District High School's Athlete of the Year in 2017, he was excelling in his first year at the University of Guelph.
Your donation will honour Adam & Zach and permit & encourage students to move forward in their studies. Donations will be received and administered through the Campbellville Community Assoc.
