Adam and Matt's Fundraiser for MANUP?

On the 16th of August, my brother and I are taking on the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge — Climbing Snowdon, Cadair Idris, and Pen y Fan. That’s over 17 miles and 7,500ft of ascent, across the three mountains in North, Mid, and South Wales.

Our dad was an enthusiast for the outdoors who was known for his love for hiking, climbing and cycling. This love for the outdoors has carried over to us due to the childhood we experienced thanks to our Mum and Dad who took every opportunity they could to get us outdoors. Whether that was an afternoon up Beechwood Park, a weekend down the New Forest or a week up the Lake District.

Sadly, as many of you know, our dad passed away in February of 2018. The 15th August 2025 would have marked his 78th birthday. Our dad was our biggest supporter. Always supporting our ventures in football, athletics and rugby. Every training session, every car journey, every track meet and every game regardless of the weather, dad would always be there.

He is our hero, and has made a mark on not just our lives eternally, but anyone who was lucky enough to know him.

This challenge is not just a celebration of his birthday, but an attempt to raise awareness towards men's mental health, something which is extremely close to us and many other men in our lives.

The funds raised will be donated to MANUP?, a charity focused on eradicating the stigma surrounding men's mental health and creating effective support systems which are universally accessible. Charities like this are incredibly important because they tackle issues that are often invisible until they aren't - until they are in your home, in your family, in your life.
