Help V.S. Nightborn Secure a Safe Future

Hello! My name is Jessica Corvidae and I've put this fundraiser together for my dear friend V.S. Nightborn. V has been dealing with the fallout of a really unfortunate situation regarding the loss of her job after being robbed at gunpoint and the subsequent insecurity of her housing situation thereafter. She's in danger of losing her place to live and needs our help!
V's Story:
"Starting in early 2022, I was working at a shop downtown that I loved. We had a tight-knit family vibe together worked well together, except when it came to the owner of the shop. In late 2022/early2023, we had to begin advocating for ourselves to our owner, rallying for a safer environment for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Aside from trying to educate the owner, the shop was wonderful.
Unfortunately, in October 2023 my workplace was robbed at gunpoint. The incident was terrifying and traumatizing for our entire team. Our shared trauma didn't mean anything to the owner of the shop though, as he was already annoyed with our attempts to create a safer work environment long before we were robbed at gunpoint. Instead of meeting us with compassion and understanding for the events that we had endured, we were bullied in an attempt to coerce us into quitting. When we refused to quit, he shut down the entire business out of nowhere.
After taking a period of much needed rest, I am still struggling to find work that is away from the general public so I won’t be as vulnerable to such violence again. This is not the first job experience I have had to endure things like racism, bigotry, and threats of life altering or life ending physical violence at and I am eagerly searching opportunities that do not put me in these lines of fire.
With my financial walls closing in and my living situation now being put into jeopardy, I'm struggling to stay afloat and meet bills while I continue to search for new employment, and potentially also a new living arrangement and/or a new roommate. Most of my savings got used last year during some expensive emergency dental procedures. I could really use some financial support to keep afloat as I continue to search for safe employment and a safe home."
All donations that are made will go towards supporting V's:
- Rent
- Utilities

- & other bills
V.S. Nightborn is an incredible person who has spent an invaluable amount of time researching esoteric community lore, history, and mysticism, curating a physical and digital library of vampyre, otherkin, and witch community history. Her work is often silent but immensely appreciated. She gives so much of her time to making sure our community relics are being preserved. The least we can do is try to help her keep a roof over her head.
