Support Luis's Family in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
As many of you know I have been on quite the journey since I retired after dedicating 34 years to Gallo Glass. Looking forward to the day when I could hang up my hat and retire, I had the greatest dreams of traveling the states with my ultimate life goal of traveling outside of the country for the first time in my life. Though life had other plans for me.

While I reached my dream of retirement, shortly after I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. I had not even had the opportunity to relax or travel yet. Doctor’s tried to surgically remove the cancer, but to no avail, as the cancer spread throughout my entire body, as I endured cancer in my legs, my back, glands, lungs and ultimately multiple organs. As the cancer ravaged my body, my children, Cynthia, David, DeAnna, and son-in-law, Clarence, stood by my side; taking care of me as they went with me to every single chemotherapy and radiation appointment. Even taking turns moving in with me to be with me at all times and help with my day to day life.

Their love, care, strength and prayer helped me every step of the way, as I continued to push through this cancer journey these past couple of years. With much strength and determination, I was able to have some good days that allowed me to travel to Hawaii and the four corner states and to the East Coast and New York for my daughter’s graduation. Good days where I could live my life as much as I could, enjoying the outdoors, appreciating nature’s beauty, partying at Crocodiles with good friends, and good music. Spending time with my children and getting out when my body allowed me.

After such a challenging, devastating, life altering journey, I ended up in ICU this summer for half a month as the cancer continued to spread and destroy my lungs and my body. I was unable to breathe without assistance and could barely move or speak. With my family by my side they prayed over me every single day until I was told I could return home. Since my stay in the ICU, doctor’s have let me know my body can no longer handle anymore chemotherapy or radiation. That there is no more treatment for my advanced stage of cancer and to return home and enjoy what time I have left; Living on borrowed time.

As I reflect back on my remarkable life, from where I started to where I am now, seeing my children grow and achieve their life goals; there is one last wish I would love to be fulfilled, and that is for my children to be assisted with my passing both spiritually, emotionally, and financially, as I have also accrued medical costs during my treatment, in addition to the funeral costs I know they will endure.

So if you are reading this, then I have passed, left my physical body, and have joined the big great party in the sky, and it is with a heavy and grateful heart that I reach out for your love, prayers, and care during this difficult time for my children, and will gratefully accept any support emotionally, spiritually, and financially to help them as they lay me to rest.

Sincerely,

Luis
