Ashley's Journey
Donation protected
On the 29th December 2018, their world came crashing down, diagnosed with bone cancer in her right tibia, 13 year old Ashley and her family have been left in devastation.
Understandably, Ashley and her family were blindsided by the news. Ashley has always been a fit and healthy child, with a close knit and happy family. Their seemingly perfect life has been turned upside down. Her father Chad has had to take extended leave from his job, and her mum Jenni is operating her small business between treatments in Newcastle. Ashleys sister Erin is in her HSC year and will need to remain based in Port Macquarie, with Mum and Dad coming home whenever they can.
Ashley is considered paediatric, which means her treatments need to be provided out of John Hunter Hospital and RPA in Sydney. Family life is now divided between the two and revolves around chemotherapy, travel, school tasks, hospital visits and as much quality down time at home as possible. It is hoped that this part of Ashleys Journey will be completed by the end of the year, but it is impossible to know for sure what the future holds.
Ashleys family has been overwhelmed by the love and support they continue to receive, but the future remains uncertain. With this in mind, any assistance they receive is greatly appreciated and provides them with reassurance that their focus can remain on each other returning Ashley to good health.
We thank you!
