On Saturday, November 15, 2025, my brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Land of St. Peters, MO suffered a serious accident. While hunting with friends, he fell from a tree and sustained significant injuries. After arriving at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, it was determined by doctors that Chuck had shattered part of his spine. He underwent spinal surgery the following day to repair damage and install metal hardware. Our family is deeply grateful the operation went well, but his recovery will be long, painful, and filled with challenges. We are doing everything we can to support Chuck and his family of eight during this difficult time.

Because Chuck is the sole provider for his family of eight, his sudden inability to work has placed their household under significant financial strain. It will be months before Chuck is able to care for their little ones on his own, and even longer before he can return to work.

During this initial recovery time, Melissa is caring for both Chuck and their youngest children, which means she is also unable to work. The family now faces mounting medical expenses, everyday living costs, and the added burdens that come with such an unexpected crisis.

All donations will be used for medical bills, monthly rent for the family’s home, food for the family of eight, and transportation expenses.

I have known Chuck for over 20 years, and in all that time, I’ve known him to be one of the hardest-working people I have ever met. He has always put his family first, working tirelessly to provide for his wife, Melissa (my sister), and their six children. He is the kind of person who shows up for everyone—family, friends, and even strangers—and never asks for anything in return. Now it is my turn to help return the favor.
