Youth Orchestra Without Borders is a student-run, non-profit organization that works to support an orchestra of teenage North Korean refugees, South Korean students, and US citizens. The North Korean students are currently living at the Durihana International School which houses, educates, and rehabilitates these child refugees. Through donating instruments, giving virtual and in-person lessons, and organizing performances, we hope to expose the students to the healing benefits of music. Our work will ultimately provide the orchestra with the ability to take what they have learned and showcase their hard work at both traditional concert halls and at charity events for other underprivileged children.

Our work over the past three years consisted of donating instruments and providing music lessons. Before COVID, we even organized this orchestra's first performance opportunity. Unfortunately, the onset of the pandemic has made it difficult to facilitate these lessons and performances for the orchestra as we would like. However, we are now, with your help, revving back up to reinvigorate and grow our organization.

We are launching this GoFundMe because we need your support in repairing our current instruments, purchasing more instruments, paying for music lessons with more advanced teachers, renting performance venues, and supporting transportation to said venues. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
