Actual Rafiq Memorial Fund

Hi All,

My name is Stuart Robinson, and I had the pleasure of being friends with Rafiq Gulamani-AKA Actual Rafiq-for almost 11 years, although we knew each other far longer than that. Rafiq was one of the most talented people who I have ever befriended. His energy was infectious. He could talk to me about any topic, and we could discuss anything from music to rap lyrics to bizarre Adult Swim videos for hours, until both of us would lose track of time, and try to slog through the next day. From what I have gathered, I was not the only person who he could talk and laugh with.

Rafiq was a musician, music producer, DJ, artist, and more. 'Virtuoso' is a modest word for his output. I worked with him primarily through The Ambient Mafia, a DJ collective that he was extremely passionate about and poured his energy into.

Some time between January 27th and January 28th, Rafiq passed away, survived by wonderful parents, a great daughter, an adorable kitten, and an entire community of friends, peers, confidants, chums, bros...he was friends with so many people, and if you met him, you certainly would remember him.
