“God put me on Earth to be a mother, I just wish it wasn’t a grieving mother.”

Our month-long Toddler Spotlight will resume tomorrow as we finish off the month of November with two special toddlers from Texas. Today, on Giving Tuesday, we pause the spotlight to talk about Giving To The Grieving and to shine a light on what your generosity has done for grieving toddler loss mamas and their families.

Giving Tuesday, annually held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, is an opportunity for people around the world to use their individual power of generosity to support their communities. On Giving Tuesday the whole world comes together to give back. It is because of your generosity that the Acts For Adalyn Foundation has been able to help almost 200 mothers, from 44 of our states, and from 17 different countries. We’ve done this in less than 3 years! Your contributions are providing loss mamas with a safe place where they feel seen, heard, and validated. You are helping to provide them with a lifeline and a connection to a world that they suddenly feel so disconnected from. With your donations, we are able to fill their empty and aching arms with a keepsake bunny. A tangible gift for them to hold onto when the pain of grief is overwhelming.

For the past 27 days, I have had the honor of sharing some of the toddlers that make up the Acts For Adalyn Foundation. I have shared their sweet faces, pictures of their actual bunny provided by their mother (some dressed in an outfit that the toddler had worn), and I’ve shared their mother’s words about who they were and how much they are missed. I’ve also shared their mother’s words about what the Acts For Adalyn Foundation means to them.

Together, we’ve begun to change the isolating grief journey for toddler loss mamas, but our mission is far from complete. Your donations are more than a financial contribution, they are a means of survival for mother’s living the unimaginable reality of sudden toddler loss.

There simply aren’t any words to adequately express my gratitude to each person that has graciously given to Acts For Adalyn over the past two years. It is because of you that this community for toddler loss mamas exists. It is because of you that I have found my connection to this world in the aftermath of losing Adalyn.
