Acton sits in one of California’s highest wildfire risk areas.

Many of our neighbors—especially seniors, veterans, and residents with disabilities—cannot physically or financially complete the wildfire safety work needed to protect their homes.

That’s where Acton Firewise Inc. steps in.

We are a volunteer-run nonprofit helping residents reduce wildfire risk through defensible space assistance, home hardening, wildfire education, and the creation of Firewise Communities.

Our goal is simple: neighbors helping neighbors protect Acton.

• Defensible Space Clearing - Removing hazardous vegetation and reducing fuel around homes.

• Home Hardening Improvements - 
Installing ember-resistant vents and other upgrades that help stop embers from entering homes.

• Wildfire Education - Providing residents with guidance on how to protect their homes and meet new wildfire safety standards.

• Creating Firewise Communities - Helping neighborhoods organize and qualify as Firewise Communities, which improves preparedness and can help homeowners qualify for insurance discounts.

Simple steps like clearing vegetation and improving home protection can dramatically increase a home’s chance of surviving a wildfire.
