Bolivia Burns. Act Now to Fund Water Trucks
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Daniela and I am a Bolivian living abroad and a volunteer for Rios de Pie, a non-violent movement defending human rights and the environment in Bolivia.
As you read this, at least four types of forests in Bolivia—the Chiquitania, Amazon, Savanna, and Montane forests—are being consumed by flames.
A staggering 4 MILLION hectares—larger than Belgium or Switzerland—of virgin forest have already burned, driven by drought and human actions. These fires have devastated entire ecosystems, killing countless trees and wildlife in just weeks.
The government is unwilling to respond, leaving it to us, civil society, to take this catastrophic situation into our hands.
THE GOOD NEWS? WE CAN ALL STILL HELP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Local heroes, brave volunteer firefighters from affected communities are battling these fires with minimal equipment, urgently seeking national and international support.
They are specifically asking us for funds to purchase water trucks and essential materials.
WITH YOUR DONATION, WE WILL:
- Rent water tanker trucks for our firefighters to extinguish fires (3,000 USD per rental)
- Equip firefighters, providing them with gear, food, and medical supplies to keep these volunteers safe.
All donations will be allocated based on real-time needs, determined by Rios de Pie members and firefighters on the ground. We will provide receipts and updates once per week.
Your donation will help stop this tragedy.
Ps: if you know of any firefighters who have used material to donate, please contact me or Rios de Pie!
