Action "Kredka" helping Ukrainian children

Donation protected
In association with Zupa World, Entertainist and Sparkle Cleaning in London, we are raising funds for our action "Kredka", which is focused on helping Ukrainian refugees stranded in Poland.

Inspired by our 8 years old daughter, who spent all her savings on buying writing and art and crafts materials for Ukrainian children, we decided to develop her initiative into something a little bigger. The traumatising atrocity of war is never going to be completely erased from children's memories and minds - I know that from my Ukrainian grandma’s memoirs. She was forcefully seperated and taken away from her mother to a work camp in Nazi Germany when she was 14 years old, and keeping a secret diary and writing poems let her hold on to some power and allowed her to express her feelings.

We can’t provide therapy to all the children caught up in and fleeing the war in Ukraine, we can’t magically return them safely back home. We can’t wave a magic wand and turn back the clock, but we can provide them with pens and paper, brushes and crayons and arts and crafts materials, so they get their voices back and retrieve some power over what is happening in their lives. Their mental health is in a very fragile state. So, please help us to raise funds.

The Association of Polish Librarians, branch in Poznań supports our action. They will purchase art materials on our behalf, and distribute them among Ukrainian refugee children who have been accommodated in Poznań and the surrounding area. They will also organise art therapy workshops so that children can feel a bit of normality at least for a moment. We will share the feedback with you on our social media.

Also, our friends in Poland at Pacura Education are already making regular trips to Polish-Ukrainian border, as well as to rescue centres in and around Kraków to deliver food and sanitary products to people in the rescue centres. We will be using their logistics to deliver art materials directly to kids stranded there.
