Liam is an 11yr old boy who has a condition called DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY. This is a life limiting condition which effects every single muscle in his body including his hear / lungs/ and even down to his swallowing.. this condition is 100% fatal and ther is no cure for it. Most boys with Duchenne loose the ability to walk by the age of 12 and need a wheelchair. Liam has a manual power assist chair at the moment but he has massively out grown it and is finding it hard to self propel himself which makes it difficult for him to get around, so now he desperately needs a power chair which will be so much easier for Liam to get around and be able to go places that at the moment are either a no go or very difficult to get to . A power chair would mean less strain on liams arms as he wouldn't have to push and and he wouldn't be missing out or feeling left out of activities like having to sit at the side while watching his brother and sister playing . So for Liam to be able to get a power chair would be amazing for him he would have so much more freedom an less restriction..life is tough enough for him so let's make this part of his life a little bit easier for him .x
