Act Now for Adam

Three months ago, 36yr old healthy Adam received the shocking diagnosis of B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Immediately, he began the first of three rounds of chemotherapy, which was just the beginning of a life-long medical journey for Adam. Now, a bone marrow transplant is the ONLY option available to have a chance at saving Adams’ life. ALL is an aggressive type of leukemia with no known cause and no magic “cure”. The long-term prognosis in adults is also not highly favorable. The transplant and resulting side effects could be very painful and take a huge toll on him physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Adam’s most immediate need is assistance with medical bills. His medical insurance and continued employment are uncertain at this time. Even with current coverage, he has been denied by the insurance company some treatments that would have been helpful for his medical care and treatment.  We want to ensure that any and all needed treatment is not withheld or delayed by a lack of funds. The stress of financial matters can also have a very detrimental effect on Adam’s future prognosis.

Adam is a selfless, caring and independent person. He does not ever ask of others but rather always gives and puts others first. He is hard working, loyal, and simply a wonderful human being.  He is beloved by his family, friends, and coworkers and despite all our resources, it just isn’t enough to make an impact.
