Lydia & Jess are an awesome acrobatic gymnastics partnership who are hoping you’ll be able to help them fulfil their dreams of representing the country for the first time, at the European Championships this October in Bulgaria.
Thank you so much, anything at all is hugely appreciated xx
Lydia’s story:
My name is Lydia and I’m a 17 year old gymnast. When I was 10 I was invited to a meeting about a new ‘acro squad’ being created at the gymnastics club I went to once a week. We were shown videos and photos of some beautiful and impressive moves, and there I met my amazing coach Nikita. I don’t quite remember whether it was during that meeting or on one the countless evenings I spent at the gym after that meeting but I fell completely in love with the sport. ❤️ Fast forward 7 years and I’m closer than ever at achieving one of the craziest dreams I’ve had. Competing for team GB at the european championships. Alongside not having a permanent gym and unrolling mats out in a school hall every day for years, my partner Jess suffered an injury earlier this year which set us back and stopped us from going to the first stage of trials for European championships. We worked so hard to get back even stronger and we made it in time for the British Championships in July, where we came second . After that we went to trials to represent the country at the European Championships and found out only a few weeks ago that we made it and we can compete for Team GB The costs of going to this competition are huge and it’s hard to find money out of nowhere. My parents have been saving their money to try and make this happen for me but we can’t do it alone. Any help at all would be so greatly appreciated and would help me to reach my dreams.
Jess’ story:
I am Jess I’m 12 and an Acrobatic Gymnast that started gymnastics when I was 3 years old and Acrobatics at 6 years old. My love and passion for this sport just keeps growing stronger and is part of me. ❤️I train over 20 hours a week with my partner Lydia. We have been in a woman’s pair partnership for about 2 years and it’s always been our dream to represent our country. Earlier this year I got injured and broke my collarbone which made me really sad and felt like our dreams for trialling for Great Britain had been ripped away from us. We didn’t let this setback stop our hopes and dreams and we came back fighting stronger and harder . A few weeks ago me and Lydia found out we had gotten into TeamGB to compete at the European Championships in Varna, Bulgaria. When we found out this news we cried and laughed with joy, it’s hard to put into words how happy I am. ☺️ My family support me every step of the way but unfortunately this sport is all self funded and the cost of all this is expensive as you can imagine: travelling, kit, leotards.
We would love for you to be part of our next chapter and help us reach our dream. We would be so grateful for any support or donation no matter how big or small.
You supporting us, means the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and donate!
