ACORN, IOWA: A short film by Madison Wolfe

Hi, my name is Madison Wolfe. I'm an actress, writer, producer, director, and digital filmmaking major at Loyola University New Orleans. This November, I will be filming my senior thesis short film titled ACORN, IOWA, and am currently in the crowdfunding portion of preproduction process. My film at its core is a story about two complex characters, with a long history and a complicated relationship: Olivia is a few weeks into camp at mental heath organization for young girls in a made up, middle of nowhere city called Acorn, Iowa. When Maria, Olivia’s long term best friend and deranged business partner, unexpectedly shows up and causes chaos in the camp, Olivia is forced to either fall back into her old ways- assisting Maria in completing mischievous “favors” for the other campers to make some cash- or attempt to put a stop to their business and relationship all together, risking the consequences of standing up to Maria head on.

This film is very much a passion project for me, and I chose to tell this story in hopes of providing audiences with a dramatic, fun, and entertaining watch, making people question what they think they know along the way. In the Spring, ACORN, IOWA will be fully edited, and submitted to film festivals all around the United States.
