Cardiff Council is planning on building a 40-acre data centre in Llanrumney that will ruin the local environment, ratchet up water & electricity prices, and destroy a popular Park & Ride service that many doctors, nurses and patients use to go to the Heath hospital.
Cardiff Council Planning Committee has ignored the concerns of local residents, but ACORN the Community Union is fighting back and making sure local people are heard!
ACORN has worked with community leaders to hold public meetings, knock doors around the area to tell people what's going on, produced leaflets explaining how damaging this data centre would be, and ACORN has taken direct action to disrupt Council meetings and force politicians to listen!
By supporting this fundraiser, you will help contribute to:
- Room hire costs
- Producing leaflets, flyers, stickers, posters and other materials for the campaign
- Travel costs for outreach/door-knocking
- Equipment costs for when we confront politicians
