ACL Surgery for wonderful Zoey!

Donation protected
In November of 2020, our family stepped up to foster sweet pup Zoey. She was transferred to the Chicago area from Texas and was supposed to stay with us for just a couple of weeks as she was scheduled for a surgery to repair a torn ACL. Within three days, we had fallen in love with this sweet, smart, and loving girl and we knew we were going to adopt her. All we had to do was wait for her to have her surgery, and we would be good to go. So we waited. And we waited. And we waited. I checked in with the shelter often to find out the status of her procedure but no matter how much time elapsed, we kept hearing that she would be scheduled "soon". Finally, on January 4th, I dropped her off at the shelter and she was headed down state to the surgery center to have her operation. She would be back with us, and officially ours in just two short weeks. but January came and went. And February came and went. And, finally at the very end of February, she came back to us....but....she still had not had the surgery. She was just down there for two months with nothing to show for it! It turned out that the shelter determined they were not able to provide the operation, but they were willing to relinquish her to us provided that we took care of getting the surgery for Zoey. I did research to find a surgeon for her in Chicago and have her scheduled for her ACL surgery on March 30th. The estimate for her procedure is 5,800k-6,800K. Our goal is to raise 7000k and donate the overage to the Veterinary Care Charitable Fund which is an organization that provides fee assistance to families and organizations that cannot afford significant veterinary procedures.

Every little bit counts. We now have insurance for Zoey to cover any unexpected expenses that might arise in the future, but are asking for support from the animal loving community to help us provide for her current needs. Though we wish the organization that transported her was committed to working with us to provide the medical procedure, we certainly aren't going to walk away from her when she needs our help!

Thank you for any donation big or small. We cant wait to get our girl fixed and pay it forward to help others who find themselves in a similar situation.
