My name is Preston, this is my baby Mocha, she is a 2 year old Pit bull mix who was rescued a little over two weeks ago. When I took ownership, she had an existing limp and was constantly shaking her head. After her first vet visit on May 25th, I was told she has an ear infection in both ears, as well as a completely torn ACL also known as a Cranial Cruciate Ligament in dogs. The initial Vet visit alone cost me $650 alone. Her doctor also informed me that her surgery, on the low end would cost anywhere from$2500 to $3000. As a full time college student who waits tables part time, while living on my own, this is an expense Im having a rough time fulfilling. I would do anything for Mocha,  but I am spreading myself thin trying to pay rent, afford groceries, and paying student loans. I knew taking her in that there was a chance it would be worse than expected, but I fell in love with her the day I met her and knew I had no other choice but to make her mine. She is one of a kind. In a matter of weeks, Myself and others have watched her personality develop into something amazing. It hurts me to see the way she walks, but it seems she was forced to deal with it for so long from her previous owner that she just manages. Her doctor stated that the instability in her left hind leg was drastic and the sooner we get the surgery, the less we risk tearing her other ACL given she is so dependent on her right leg right now. I will continue to work as many shifts as possible to come up with what I can, but anything and everything is GREATLY appreciated. Even if you cant, just a share would mean the world to us both.
